Engineering on open water
Lake docks typically see Exposure C or higher wind conditions. Uplift at canopy connections often governs design more than horizontal wind push. Catalog kits rated for backyards are not automatically valid on open piers.

Cantilever shade mounts from the shore or pier edge and extends overhead without posts in the walking path. Critical for boarding areas, fuel docks, and seating at the end of narrow piers.
Materials that survive splash zones
