About & Contact

Engineering Environments. Shade Built for Life.

Duffer Hollow Designs is a Missouri-based shade structure company that designs, fabricates, and installs engineered outdoor shade for schools, municipalities, lake properties, restaurants, and private clients across the Midwest and nationwide.

From Rich Hill, Missouri

Our headquarters and fabrication facility at 7606 N. 14th St., Rich Hill, MO is where projects start and where steel becomes structure. Being centrally located in Missouri means we can reach Lake of the Ozarks lakefront properties, Kansas City metro commercial work, and nationwide deliveries from one controlled shop floor.

Founded in 2022, Duffer Hollow Designs grew from a commitment to doing shade properly: engineered, documented, and installed by people who stand behind a 12-year limited warranty. We are not a reseller passing kits through a warehouse. We are a fabrication partner for property owners, contractors, and municipalities who need shade that performs after the first storm.

Where Shade Meets Craftsmanship

Duffer Hollow Designs builds engineered shade structures for property owners who need more than a catalog kit dropped on their site. Every project starts with how people actually use outdoor space—playgrounds, docks, patios, venues—and ends with steel and fabric built to perform in real Midwest weather.

Why We Create Shade Solutions

Shade is safety infrastructure on playgrounds, comfort infrastructure on lake docks, and revenue infrastructure on restaurant patios. We design for those outcomes: lower surface temperatures, documented wind performance, and structures that still look right five years after install.

Built Strong and Built to Last

Our frames are welded in-house, finished for corrosion resistance, and paired with commercial fabrics specified for UV block and public-use durability. We publish warranty terms, maintenance guidance, and engineering assumptions so owners are not guessing what they bought.

A Process That Feels Personal

You work with a team that measures your site, shows 3D concepts before fabrication, and stays accountable through installation and handover. Whether you are a homeowner on the Lake of the Ozarks or a GC delivering a municipal park, you get the same engineering discipline and direct communication.

Proudly built in Missouri. Trusted nationwide—from lake docks and playgrounds to entertainment venues and municipal parks.

What We Stand For

Fabricated In-House

Frames are built at our Rich Hill shop. Engineering intent survives from drawing to weld, not through a chain of subcontractors.

Engineering First

Wind load, exposure category, and foundations are calculated for your site. Catalog assumptions are not good enough for commercial and lakefront work.

Transparent Process

Site review, 3D renderings, permit documentation, quality checklists, and a digital handover manual. You know what you are getting before install day.

Built for the Midwest

From the Lake of the Ozarks to Great Lakes marinas, Kansas City entertainment venues to Indiana municipal parks. Regional weather is part of the design brief.
