Project overview
At Worlds of Fun’s Zambezi Zinger, exposed queue and gathering areas take Midwestern sun all day. Guests wait in the open while the coaster structure and themed landscaping fill the view. We designed and fabricated a layered sail canopy—green, orange, and tan fabric on dark posts—that cools waiting zones, photographs as part of the attraction, and holds up through peak-season traffic in Kansas City.
Challenge
Entertainment queue shade has to clear sightlines, survive daily guest traffic, and look intentional next to a signature coaster—not like an afterthought canopy. Zambezi Zinger’s site mixed ride infrastructure, themed buildings, landscaping, and almost no tolerance for downtime during install.
Solution
We engineered a multi-sail shade field for the Zambezi Zinger queue and approach areas: commercial fabric, powder-coated and timber-coordinated posts, and tension geometry that layers coverage without blocking the attraction. Guests get real UV relief; the park keeps the visual energy of the ride.
